BisonFest – Quitaque (Kitty-Quay), Texas
Aside from all the FUN and the station’s partnership with BisonFest, I have another connection to Quitaque; my Daddy!
BisonFest is an annual fundraising country music concert that benefits the Bison of Quitaque. BisonFest is held annually in September in DOWNTOWN Quitaque, Texas. You can read more about the event and what it benefits here.
Quitaque, Texas is cute LITTLE town about 90-miles from Amarillo. After this last trip it seems like this little town might be making a come-back, there’s a new Bed and Breakfast named Back to Basics, the Caprock Cafe , Dad’s BBQ a new Restaurant just opened and is located just across the street from the Alsups. There are also a couple of resale and boutique shops on main street.
Also, while you’re there check out the Caprock Canyons State Park and Trailways. You can read about the park and its facilities here. This is also where the Bison roam!
If you’re ever in need of a little country down time, check out Quitaque, Texas and its surrounding little towns.
